BALFOR proudly present the cover artwork and track listing of our album, entitled "Barbaric Blood".

The "Barbaric Blood" artwork and layout was designed by Martin Saavedra at Uruguay's Spina Studio (ABORTED, DAATH, DIVINITY).

It's always a long journey making an album. First it has to be written and rehearsed. Then it has to be recorded and mastered, and that's where most people think it ends. But it doesn't quite end there. An important factor that everyone forgets about is the artwork, and yet this is often what people notice first. So we are particularly pleased that the artwork for 'Barbaric Blood' has been so well executed by Martin of Spina Studio. He has captured both the concept behind the album, and the band itself.

"Barbaric Blood" was recorded at Blacklight Studio, Ukraine during August 2009, with the effort mixed and mastered by Shaddar.

An official street release date for "Barbaric Blood" will be announced soon.

Agnarr was forced to quit the band following a recent injury that's said to be serious enough to stop the guitarist from performing in the studio or live.

We are very sorry that this has happened to Agnarr. It's a terrible thing when a musician is no longer able to play, and he is one of those musicians with a natural talent and a lot of experience. We hope that he'll be able to overcome the effects of the injury and eventually return to playing. BALFOR is certainly going to miss both his musicianship and his companionship.

Dragon-T, former guitarist of thrash metal band HELL:ON, will replace Agnarr. Once again we've been lucky in our search for a guitarist," Thorgeir notes. "Dragon-T is as skilled as Agnarr, both live and when it comes to recording, and the fact that he was available just when we needed him was a stroke of good fortune for us

BALFOR SIGNS WITH PULVERISED RECORDS

SECOND GUITARIST WELCOMED TO THE BAND

We are very pleased to welcome former UNERASE guitarist Agnarr to our line up as our second guitarist. We have been rehearsing with the new line up, and Agnarr is already up to speed with BALFOR’s material, which is not surprising as he is a highly trained and skilled guitarist, with a real instinct for music, so he got the feel of what we wanted straight away. We realised when we were recording the new album, that the fuller sound we had developed was going to need an additional guitarist in order for us to be able to reproduce it live, so Agnarr is a much-welcomed addition to the band.

SATYRICON COVER AVAILABLE FOR STREAMING

Our cover version of SATYRICON’s “K.I.N.G”. The track, which we recorded at the Blacklight Studio in Kiev, will appear on the “Dominions of Satyricon” tribute CD that is due for release shortly on the Empire 606 Records. Thorgeir says “I have a lot of respect for SATYRICON’S work, and “K.I.N.G” is probably one of my favourite tracks of theirs, so I was really keen to get involved in the project. We didn’t want to record a straight copy, and I think the style we chose to use for the guitar break probably makes it a little more “metal” than the original, and I’m sure there will be the usual armchair critics ready to criticise us for our version, but what the hell, we all had a great time making it!”

Preview track from new album has been uploaded

“Behold My Hate” a track that will feature on our forthcoming album “Barbaric Blood” has been uploaded. Check it out here. You can also find it on our MySpace page at www.myspace.com/balforhorde

The track is still un-mastered, but we wanted to give you a feeling of what to expect from the new album. The sound is much fuller and much stronger than previously, and hopefully you will like it. From the initial reaction we’ve been getting, a lot of people do!

We are please to announce that NeKronos Promotion-Hell (Allegiance, Belphegor, Devian, Hate, Keep Of Kalessin, Vesania, Devilish Impressions, etc…) will be handling our promotion and publicity for the foreseeable future with a view to raising our profile throughout the world. We have known the guys at NeKronos for some time now, and are delighted that they have added us to their roster.

Recording of “Barbaric Blood” Scheduled to Start On The 19 th February

On the 19 th of February we will be entering the Blacklight Studio in Kiev to begin work on our next full-length album, which will be called “Barbaric Blood”. The recording will take two weeks, after which it will be sent to the Toproom Studio ( Mayhem, Borknagar, Arcturus, Vintersorg, Extol, Ulver, Tristania, etc.) in Norway , to be mixed and mastered by Boerge Finstad.

We will let you know how the recording stage went, but we can tell you already, this album is going to be Pure Barbaric Balfor!

We are happy to announce that Vortigern (SLAUGHTER BRUTE, ex - NOCTICULA) has joined BALFOR. He will be replacing Erland on drums. Unfortunately Erland had to move away and the considerable distance meant that it was very difficult for him to come to rehearsals, and indeed, we had to cancel a couple of gigs because of it. We had been playing together for a long time, and he will be much missed, both as a drummer and as a friend.

However, we are delighted to have been able to recruit Vortigern. We have admired his drumming for some time; he is very expressive in his playing and is adding a new dimension to the band's music. His drumming can shake the earth! He has fitted in perfectly with the band on a personal level, which is very important, and we have already played live with him in the line-up, and the response from everyone has been fantastic.

Please join us in wishing Erland much success for the future, and in welcoming Vortigern to BALFOR.

We are pleased to announce that Patricia Thomas has agreed to become BALFOR’s European and Worldwide manager. Patricia is UK based and manages a number of Black Metal bands in Norway, Germany, the UK and South America, and is the personal manager of the legendary former Mayhem vocalist Maniac who is one of the original founders of Black Metal. She will be working closely with Yara to help promote BALFOR to a wider audience.
